Terms of Service

Last updated 20 July 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and MG Services ("Edith", "we", "us") for your use of the Edith website and application. We have kept them as plain as we can. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Edith.

1. Who can use Edith

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter into a contract. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, so keep your login details safe and let us know promptly if you suspect someone else has access.

2. What the service is

Edith gives you honest, professional-grade editorial feedback on your manuscript across a series of editing stages, from a whole-book read through to a final proofread. The service works the way a human editor does: it leaves notes, comments, and suggestions in the margins. It does not rewrite your prose or generate finished text in your place. Every editorial decision, and every word in your finished book, is yours.

3. Your content stays yours

You keep all rights to your manuscript and everything you upload. We claim no ownership of your work.

You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your content back to you only as needed to provide the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account. The editorial feedback we generate for you is yours to use however you like, including in your published book.

4. Acceptable use

When you use Edith, you agree that:

  • You own the content you upload, or have the right to use it. You will not upload material that infringes someone else's rights or breaks the law.
  • You will not use the service to create, store, or process unlawful, harmful, or abusive content.
  • You will not try to reverse engineer, copy, scrape, resell, or build a competing service from Edith, or use its output to train another AI model.
  • You will not attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service.
  • You will use one account for yourself and not share it.

5. The nature of AI feedback

Please read this part carefully. Edith's feedback is generated with the help of artificial intelligence and is offered as editorial opinion, not fact. It can be incomplete, can miss things, and can occasionally be wrong. It is not professional, legal, or financial advice.

We do not guarantee any particular outcome, including publication, sales, reviews, or awards. You are responsible for your own editorial decisions, and we encourage you to weigh every suggestion with your own judgement. The point of the service is to inform your choices, not to replace them.

6. Prices and payment

Edith is sold per manuscript as a one-time purchase, not a subscription. You can start with a low-cost first-stage read and continue with a one-time package if you want the full edit. Current prices are shown on our Pricing page.

Payment is taken securely through our payment processor at the time of purchase. Prices may change, but a change never affects an edit you have already paid for. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase unless we state otherwise.

How long a purchase stays valid. Each purchase is valid for 12 months from the day you buy it. Within that time you can use everything the purchase includes for that manuscript: every stage and every revision round. Anything you have not used when the 12 months end will expire, and the purchase closes. If you bought before the service was available to you, the 12 months start on the later of your purchase date or the date the service opened to you.

We will remind you by email before your window closes. If an edit is actively in progress when the time runs out, and you have been working on it recently, we extend it automatically for a further period and email you to let you know, so work you have already started is never cut off. If you begin with the Editorial Review and later move up to a full package within 30 days of the Review, we credit what you paid for the Review toward the package, so you never pay for the first stage twice. The package comes with a fresh 12 months from the day you buy it.

Referral credit. If you refer another writer and they buy a qualifying package, we may add referral credit to your account, and the person you refer may get a discount on their first package. Referral credit is a discount you can apply to future purchases of the service. It is not money: it has no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, transferred, or exchanged for cash, and is not a stored-value or gift-card balance. We may hold newly earned credit for a short period before it becomes available to spend (for example, until the referred purchase is past its refund window). We may change or end the referral programme at any time, and we may withhold or reverse credit gained through misuse or fraud. Credit you have already earned stays available to spend while the programme runs and your account is open.

7. Refunds

Satisfaction guarantee on your editorial letter. Every package begins with a full editorial letter on your manuscript. If, after reading it, you feel it did not surface anything you can act on, contact us before you begin the next stage and we will refund your purchase in full. This applies to one purchase per account. It is a promise that the letter gives you something usable, not a promise of any particular outcome for your book (see section 5).

Beyond that guarantee, because each edit triggers real processing costs as soon as it runs, an edit that has already been generated is generally non-refundable. If something goes wrong on our side, or the service fails to deliver what you paid for, contact us and we will put it right, including a refund where fair.

If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a digital purchase. By starting an edit during that period you ask us to begin straight away and acknowledge that you lose the right to withdraw once the edit has been generated. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the consumer law where you live.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service running smoothly, but we provide it on an as-available basis. There may be downtime for maintenance, and we may add, change, or remove features over time. Some features may be offered as early or experimental versions.

9. Ending your use

You can stop using Edith and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk. If we close your account without cause, we will refund any edit you have paid for but not yet received.

10. Disclaimers

Other than as expressly stated, the service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Some warranties cannot be excluded by law, and nothing here limits those.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the edit the claim relates to. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Your responsibility for your content

You are responsible for the content you upload and how you use the service. If a third party brings a claim against us because of content you uploaded or your breach of these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs we incur as a result, to the extent the law allows.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of the United Arab Emirates will have jurisdiction over any dispute, except where the consumer law of your home country gives you the right to bring a claim there.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, that means you accept the updated terms.
